Welcome to B-BLUE Hub, our versatile facility designed for project volunteers, research teams, student groups, short-term mission teams, and individuals seeking engaging short-term projects with us, including corporate trips, team-building events, and family and friend gatherings.

B-BLUE Hub boasts a range of amenities, such as dining areas, wet lab rooms, a conference room, and outdoor recreation spaces complete with volleyball courts, beach pickleball setups, fishing docks, and relaxing hammocks. For added convenience, we offer laundry services and feature a small convenience store on-site.

Moreover, B-BLUE Hub is a hub of cultural exchange, regularly hosting Belizean cultural groups. Activities include lively Garifuna drumming and dance performances, traditional Mayan cacao ceremonies, and opportunities to interact with local and international experts. These experts conduct workshops covering diverse topics such as seaweed soap-making, Mayan culinary traditions, exploration of medicinal plants, Belizean archaeology and history, and birdwatching, ensuring a rich and immersive experience for our guests.

Accommodation

B-BLUE Hub is nestled along the coastline of Independence Village in the Stann Creek District of Belize, Central America, amidst the tranquil beauty of mangroves and Placencia's freshwater lagoon. Just a brief 5-minute boat ride from the renowned tourist and fishing town of Placencia, B-BLUE Hub stands out as the premier hostel and resort capable of accommodating large private groups. Its secluded location offers guests a sense of exclusivity, complemented by round-the-clock monitoring from dedicated security teams ensuring their safety.

A minimum stay of 3 nights is required for all visitors, allowing groups to fully immerse themselves in short-term missions or projects while enjoying the abundant amenities of B-BLUE.

Whale Shark, the central building of B-BLUE, features 2 spacious dormitories and 3 en-suite rooms (Hibiscus, Black Orchid, and Plumeria), each equipped with a full bathroom. The dormitories include 18 bunk beds with attached bathrooms, complete with showers, toilets, and sinks. Additionally, each dorm room is equipped with private lockers for individual beds.

On the lower level of Whale Shark, guests will find a reception area, a fully-equipped office/library, a communal space for meetings and presentations, wet lab rooms, a fully functional kitchen, and an indoor dining hall adjacent to an outdoor dining palapa. WiFi and cellular network coverage extend throughout the property, ensuring connectivity for all guests.

There are three cabins available: Dolphin, Tapir, and Toucan.

Each cabin features 1 or 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a veranda offering scenic views of the lagoon, evening breezes, and starry skies. Every bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed and shares a single attached full bathroom. Additionally, each cabana is fitted with ceiling fans and air conditioning units for added comfort.

Check-in time is between 2 PM and 6 PM. Check-out time is by 11 AM. All prices below are listed in US Dollars (1 USD = 2 BZD).

The cost listed are per night, and includes free breakfast.  There is a 3-night minimum stay for all guests. Please note a 9% Belize hotel tax will be added at check out.

Boat Captain Charter Services

Meet Leonel Tucker, affectionately known as "Randy," the boat captain and head of tour operations at BBLUE. With a decade of experience at BBLUE, Randy is a beloved ambassador for both the organization and the local community, including the Placencia Fishermen's Cooperative and the Placencia Tour Guide Association.

​

Based at the BBLUE Hub, Randy is dedicated to delivering exceptional charter and tour services to every guest. As the head of tour operations, he guides excursions for guests eager to explore Placencia village, the stunning Caribbean Sea, and nearby cayes. He offers a range of recreational activities such as snorkeling, fishing, and diving. Additionally, Randy arranges land tours for those wishing to discover Belize's rich biodiversity, explore caves, visit Mayan ruins, and trek through jungle landscapes.

Randy's commitment to excellence ensures that every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience, whether on land or sea.

Boat Charters:

Independence Village to BBLUE Hub Campus (one way): $15 USD
BBLUE Hub to Placencia Village (one way): $30 USD
(Price is per boat trip. Each boat accommodates up to 6 passengers.)


Land Charters:

Private land charters are available from Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City to BBLUE Hub, a 2.5-hour drive. Various car and van rental options are available at the airport at affordable prices, which can be arranged prior to arrival.

Air Charters:

Guests also have the option to book a flight from Belize City to Placencia Village, a 30-minute flight. From Placencia Village to BBLUE Hub, boat charters for pickups are available for $60 USD. The charter boats can accommodate up to 6 passengers, depending on luggage weight. This can also be arranged upon arrival. BBLUE Hub has a concierge who assists guests with these arrangements. The two main local air charters are Tropic Air and Maya Island Air.

Important Note: Prices for other private land charters vary based on time and destination. Car rentals, vans, and other private taxis are available in Independence Village and Placencia Village, and can also be arranged through the BBLUE Hub concierge.

No refund will be given for unused package portion, hotel rooms, tours and transfers for any reason. We encourage guests to take out Travel and Medical Insurance to cover against cancellation or date changes due to unforeseen events, circumstances or accidents, as we are unable to refund the payments for any reason for cancellations or changes within the stipulated cancellation period.
